OKC Common Plumbing Troubleshooting Tips
As a long-serving Bethany plumber, Fixt Plumbing has seen and fixed it all. Here are some common plumbing issues we see and tips on how to troubleshoot them:
- Clogged toilet: If you have a plunger, slowly push it up and down until the water starts to drain. Make sure the suction cup covers the entire hole. If that fails, call our plumbers.
- Leaking faucet: A dripping faucet often stems from a worn-out washer. You can try to fix this problem yourself by removing the screws holding the handle in place and replacing the washer.
- Low water pressure: If your home suffers from low water pressure, it may be due to a problem with the main water line. Check your water pressure regulator to see if it needs adjusting. A faulty pump might be another possible culprit if you have a well system.
Don’t risk making the situation worse by trying to fix complex plumbing issues yourself. Fixt Plumbing provides upfront pricing (not over the phone) and after-hours and weekend service for an added fee.
Do you need reliable water heater services? Our technicians can install, repair, and maintain all makes and models of water heaters, so don’t hesitate to call today.

Customer had a major leak at an outside hydrant. We were able to dig up the water service piping and cut the hydrant out, only to find that the threads had broken off completely inside the hydrant. We replaced the hydrant and upgraded the piping system to be galvanized piping rather than PVC so that it has a more rigid composition to hopefully avoid future problems with easily breaking.
Customer had a gas line installed for a generac 22k generator and also to serve a furnace. The plumber that originally did the install, but didn't finish did not size the piping properly. We installed the system correctly and upsized the natural gas system to supply gas to the fixtures, routed a new service line through the attic and connected the new generator.
Customer had two faucets that were having issues and needing replacements; It was a very old, outdated Delta bathroom faucet that had become so corroded from age and water usage that the entire unit was defective and needed to be replaced.
Customer had a major leak under the concrete slab foundation. It was the hot water side that feeds the entire home. We replaced the entire hot water line from the supply at the water heater to the manibloc system. We were able to get their hot water back up and running quickly and efficiently.
Ran a drain opening service to restore flow to a bathroom that was backing up. We ran about 50 ft and got so stuck we destroyed our cable, but were miraculously able to get it back out. The line is broken and will need a repair. Next, we are going to locate the bad spot and prepare to fix the sewer line.
