Customer had a major leak at an outside hydrant. We were able to dig up the water service piping and cut the hydrant out, only to find that the threads had broken off completely inside the hydrant. We replaced the hydrant and upgraded the piping system to be galvanized piping rather than PVC so that it has a more rigid composition to hopefully avoid future problems with easily breaking.
